Volunteer Student Counsellor (Martlets)

Our counsellors offer face to face, pre-bereavement and bereavement counselling to patients, family, and significant friends at our hospice in Hove.

We are recruiting for up to 6 trainee counsellors to join Martlets on placement. To be eligible to apply, you will need to be in your second year of your diploma training and a student member of a recognised professional body.

This role will be required to undertake our four week (14 hours) Counselling and Bereavement Service Training. This will be delivered on dates April 1st & 8th, May 13th & 20th 12.30pm-4.30pm.

On completion of the training, volunteers are expected to;

• Deliver two 50-minute client sessions plus one hour of admin per week
• Participate in fortnightly group supervision session of two hours
• Complete basic mandatory on-line hospice training
